Tata Nano Sales Rose by 1,136% in December

In an effort to boost sales of its US$2,900 Nano micro car, India's Tata extended the warranty and offered easier financing in December, while it also launched a new advertising campaign that included a TV spot. Toyota Starts Construction of Second Indian Plant

Toyota Motor Corporation or TMC for short held an official ceremony on Thursday (July 31, 2008) to mark the beginning of construction of its second plant on the outskirts of Bangalore in India's Karnataka State. The new plant is scheduled to have an annual production capacity of 100,000 passenger vehicles (including a new compact vehicle) when it begins operation in 2010.

Apparently there are plenty of customers in India who wouldn’t mind paying a few extra bucks or in this case, rupees for a more luxurious version of the Renault / Dacia Logan. The low-cost Logan sedan is produced in India through a joint venture with domestic automaker Mahinda & Mahindra or M&M for short. M&M Renault will sweeten up the Logan not with chocolate chips, but with a new music system
