Bridgestone India Private Limited, (BSID) has announced that it will be investing Rs.2600 crores towards building a new manufacturing unit near Pune's Chakan Industrial Area in Maharashtra. Due to a shortfall in the key raw material (natural rubber) supplies, tyre manufacturers are forced to increase prices of tyres. JK and CEAT have already announced an increase of about 4% to their tyres.
